NJ FCCLA is proud to help support various community service projects, including the new
National Outreach Project, Share Our Strength.  According to Share Our Strength, nearly
1 out of 4 children in America, more than 17 million, struggle with hunger.  In addition, 1 out
of 6 eligible kids get free summer meals and less than half of eligible children get free or
reduced-price school breakfast. Those who struggle with hunger usually have trouble
reaching their full potential academically, are more susceptible to illness and don't develop
at the same rate as other children around them. Over the next four years, the FCCLA
National Outreach Project and partnership with Share Our Strength will inspire a shared
vision for the future in which no child in America goes hungry.

Share Our Strength is a non-profit organization that has been ending childhood hunger
since 1984. It is their highest priority to make sure that every child in America gets the
nutritious food he or she needs to learn, grow and thrive. How can you help? The first step
is to take the No Kid Hungry Pledge. Next you can visit the FCCLA/Share Our Strength
    partnership website.

Bring Share Our Strength to your local chapter through Great American Bake Sales, Better Homes & Gardens Clean
Out for Kids events, Restaurant Dine Out Nights, Wear Orange Days, car washes, Go Orange Dances, food drives,
raffles, or carnival events.  The possibilities to raise awareness are endless!
