Dear Members and Advisers:
networking usage increases, as everyone begins to "add" each other. Children of all ages engage in blogging, updating, and tweeting more than any other leisure activity. Over 72% of teens have a social networking profile. Within the past five years, the number of social networks increased tremendously. Among these social networks are Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and Hi5. While there are many precautions to take when using these networking sites, there are also many benefits to embrace. Social networks can be used to benefit FCCLA activities if used wisely. Promoting certain chapter or state events is a very effective way to ensure publicity. Many of your chapter members will check these websites daily. It is important to post upcoming meetings, charity events, and countdowns to state conferences! Use your social networking site appropriately to endorse your chapter. When using your social websites, always keep in mind that as an FCCLA member and a student leader, it is important to reflect the mission and purposes of our organization. Don’t forget to add New Jersey FCCLA as a friend on Facebook! Kamaria Guity State President New Jersey FCCLA |
