• Have a lock-in and invite prospective members and current members. When there you can play games with them
and teach them more about FCCLA.
  • Create invitations to be distributed by current members and in FACS classrooms, encouraging students to come
to an after school meeting to find out what FCCLA is all about!
  • Hang up flyers advertising your chapter’s website or upcoming events like:  bake sales, food drives, parties, etc.
  • Have a table at your high school's curriculum fair.  The first 10 people who sign up get to attend the Fall
Leadership Connection paid for by your chapter.
  • Set up an assembly with your middle school to increase their participation with FCCLA.

If you have any questions or need more strategies to help get your chapter started off on the right foot, please don’t

The Fall is a great time to start putting your membership
recruitment strategies in action!  During different
fundraisers, events or get-togethers you may hold, you
have the chance to recruit more members and get the
word out about FCCLA. Here are a few suggestions to
consider!
  • Have a Welcome Back-Kickoff FCCLA party! At this
party be sure to invite current and prospective
members. Make sure you have snacks, decorations,
and activities related to your theme and FCCLA.
Create scavenger hunts with FCCLA trivia, have
STAR Event portfolios and pictures from the
previous year on display and provide worksheets
with FCCLA facts so that your new members can
already be familiar with Step One by the time they
    leave.
  • Have a party with mini games all over your football
field! Send letters to the new kids in school and
invite them to come to the kickoff party to enlighten
    them about FCCLA.
